Redefining the automotive since 1932, Audi has been a sleek and stealthy competitor to sedans through its back to back releases of luxury sedans. It had already released the 2017 Audi A7 Sportback and so its second generation Audi R8 has been a long time coming. This time, they have released the price of this exclusive version before releasing it into the market.
The 2017 Audi R8 V10 plus exclusive edition in Quantum Gray embodies the full and extensive spectrum of what the Audi exclusive program avails to its customers. Despite the Quantum Gray paintwork, each exclusive edition includes a gloss anthracite front grille and 20-inch 10-spoke-Y-design wheels in high-gloss anthracite finish gained from a titanium black-optic exterior package. The R8 V10 also has carbon side blade with Solar Orange painted vertical stripe that complements its racing shell seats.
The entry price for the R8 now $164,150, primarily for the base V10 coupe. Considering the fact that the R8 skipped the 2016 versions, the price is a pretty big jump from 2015 model. The 2015 V8 model stood at a price of $117,150 when it first came into production. Thing is, the previous version of the V10 was available for $155,150, but that only had a six-speed manual transmission that is no longer available. The starting figure of the 2015 V10 with was $164,150 which had the seven-speed S-tronic, similar to the 2017 model.
The price is higher because the newest model features some new assets added to its previous. This naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V-10 can now churn out 540 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque, as opposed to the 525 and 391 for the old car. Audi claims that the 2017 car is 143 pounds lighter than its fathers and 40 percent more firm. Although, the factory-estimated zero-to-60-mph time is slower by a tenth to 3.5 seconds. On the other hand, the top speed increases from 195 to 199 mph.
New standards of this model also include the 12.3-inch diagonal “Virtual Cockpit” display screen that can be configured. In place of traditional gauges, new tech offerings have been included like the 4G LTE connectivity, Google Earth imagery for the navigation system, Wi-Fi hot-spot capability, and Audi Connect apps.
The 2017 Audi R8 V10 is said to be ready for sale in May. Although this model isn’t as affordable as the R8 version, but it is surely more variant. Considering the fact that the roadster version that is to return quite soon isn’t as variant as this one, the price of the R8 V10 seems plausible to most. But it is only a matter of time until we see the turbo R8’s release and whether its entry price is any different than this stealthy supercar. Regardless, this model will be preferable to many for its small yet newest addition, the full LED headlights completed with a high laser beam module. All in all, both technology and price-wise, this will be an exciting year for Audi.
